The Challenge
Merkury Innovations has been growing its smart home portfolio to help customers make ‘smart living’ more accessible, and it was at a pivotal point in 2022 where they needed to partner with a U.S.-based platform to scale and support its growing business.
With a big retail launch quickly approaching, Merkury partnered with Pepper to create a smart home application for its new line of products that would be secured and encrypted on a U.S.-based platform. Given Merkury’s desire to develop a high-volume, cost-effective, and feature-rich product line across multiple device categories, it was critical for them to find the right partner to get to market on time.
The Solution
Merkury partnered with Pepper in October 2022, and Pepper’s team of experts quickly worked to design and launch a newly branded smart home application featuring an optimized customer journey on its secure, multi-device platform.
Pepper also provided value-add services to end users including a video storage subscription, enabling Merkury to generate revenue from its smart home products over time without having to manage the subscriptions themselves. The Pepper team oversaw the launch of the newly branded Merkury Smart products, including LED light strips, smart bulbs, smart switches, cameras, and more.
Pepper provided a full-service solution including design, firmware, app, cloud, and strategy.
